The Hunter Academy of Sport Softball Talent Development Program operates as a development pathway for young Hunter Region softballers aspiring towards state selection.
It offers advanced skill development and is conducted in collaboration with both the Newcastle & District Softball Association and Softball NSW. The program follows the FTEM Model of pathway development, from Foundation, Talent, Elite and Mastery of the sport. Participants are also provided with information in sports education in areas such as, sport psychology, nutrition, injury management, strength and conditioning and motivation.

To be eligible to apply for a position within the 2025/26 softball program, athletes must be:
If required a trial will be held for selections into the 2025/26 Softball Squad.
There will be a levy for the athletes in the Softball program.
This will include HAS merchandise, education sessions and program costs
Any camps or tournaments will be an additional cost not included in the program levy
Head Coach: Olivia Moore
Olivia started out her coaching pathway as a junior coach with Camels United Softball Club at the age of 15 quickly progressed through the coaching ranks, leading both junior and T-ball sides before taking on 1st Grade men’s and women’s teams. Alongside coaching, Olivia has represented New South Wales and Newcastle at state and national tournaments, gaining valuable experience as a shortstop and outfielder.
After serving two years as Assistant Coach of the Hunter Academy of Sport Softball Program, Olivia Moore was appointed Head Coach. In this role, they focus on skill development, game awareness, and building a positive team culture that helps athletes reach their potential at regional, state, and national levels.
