The Hunter Academy of Sport (HAS) is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the highly anticipated 2024/25 Cycling and Aussie Rules Football programs. These programs provide emerging athletes with exceptional opportunities to advance their skills, knowledge and performance in their chosen sports, while also fostering personal growth and leadership development.
The programs are designed for athletes who aspire to elevate their game to the next level. Participants will have access to state-of-the-art training, expert coaching, and a supportive team environment, giving them the chance to reach their full potential. Athletes selected will also have the opportunity to progress through talent identification pathways, potentially leading to state and national representation.
Cycling:
The Cycling Program offers young cyclists access to high-level coaching and a structured development program aimed at improving their technical and tactical skills. The program includes track and road cycling sessions, as well as off-bike education such as sports science, nutrition, and mental resilience. This program is supported by AusCycling NSW and Newcastle Hunter Cycling Club.
Aussie Rules Football Development:
The Aussie Rules Football Development Program targets aspiring players who are looking to refine their skills and game awareness. The program combines advanced coaching techniques with physical conditioning and game strategy workshops. Athletes will also benefit from sports-specific mentoring and exposure to key talent scouts.
HAS is committed to nurturing the region’s sporting talent, and these programs are an exciting opportunity for young athletes to continue their sporting journey with elite-level support.
Eligibility & Application:
Nominations are open to male and female athletes in the relevant age groups for both sports. Applications can be submitted via the Hunter Academy of Sport website.
