The Hunter Academy of Sport has selected its 2020 squads for the netball development, netball talent and netball umpire programs.

The selections come after a tough weekend of trials at Hunter Sports High School at the start of this month.

Almost 200 athletes were put through their paces at the trials in front of a panel of selectors from across the Hunter netball associations.

The selected netball development squad athletes were: Charlee Boucher, Zahlee Connolly, Paulini Davis Dates, Tynisha Faasisila, Isabella Groves, Indy Hilder, Eve Keeling, Imogen Meissner, Madison Paine, Claira Raymond, Ella Sames, Ella Smith, Tahni Sunerton, Makayla Swan, Ireland Thomas and Hope White.

The athletes selected in the netball talent squad included: Savannah Angelozzi, Ella Butcher, Sophie-Clare Croker, Crystal Eade, Amali Fitzhenry, Meg Haylen, Kate Love, Caitlin Rodgers, Olivia Taylor, Evie Whitton, Jorja Brown, Emma Dawson, Georgie-Anna Elder, Ruby Gardner, Maggie Greentree, Tahlia Henry, Jordan Parsons, Faith Percival, Xanthe Rheinberger, Marnie Robinson, Brooke Rooney, Emma Shoesmith, Aela Streatefield and Emma Wybourne.

Those selected for the umpire program included: Jessica Cam, Grace Freeman, Claire Howe, Jemah Muscat, Hayley Passmore, Jessica Rumbel, Ellie Taylor, Goergia Walkerden and Chelsea Webb. The selected athletes come from eight different local government areas across the Hunter, playing across 10 of our local associations.

The program plays a vital role in the Netball NSW athlete pathway by identifying, monitoring and developing skills of young netball athletes and umpires.
